Details of the AutoRaise REAL Rally have been announced and the 2019 event being held over the 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th June looks like it will be even bigger than all previous REAL Rally’s.
The 2019 event will see the Rally once again remain on the UK mainland, this time taking in the beautiful scenery of Scotland over two nights, to include stays in Edinburgh and the Borders. The Rally has been extended to include an optional third night before the Rally commences from the official Starting Grid at a resort hotel on the outskirts of Newcastle in the North East of England.
“We have decided to rename the event to the “AutoRaise REAL Rally” in recognition of the number of competitors from the vehicle repair industry and AutoRaise being the primary beneficiary of funds raised” explained organiser Bob Linwood. “It was a fairly easy decision to stay in the UK because this years event in Wales was so successful. Admittedly a lot of that was down to the glorious weather we enjoyed and the bar was raised incredibly high thanks to the zipwire and race circuit drive, let alone the stunning stay at Portmeirion village, so we have our work cut out to put on another great event”.
With participating team numbers steadily increasing over the years and based on some teams who have already pre-registered, the AutoRaise REAL Rally, the organisers are expecting another record attendance. “Based on current projections, we think there could be as many as 75 teams and we will have to restrict numbers to that level to make sure everyone gets a hotel room each night” Bob continues. “We shall be organising some great adventures along the way and we’re really excited about bringing so many people together once again for some lovely scenic drives, lots of social time to chat with friends and colleagues and no doubt a few “vehicle issues” too!”
The rules for the 2019 AutoRaise REAL Rally will remain the same as previous years. Every team has to raise a minimum of £500 in fundraising and sponsorship for the charity, with this being a minimum criteria for entry. Competitors can either enter a “Banger” or a “Classic”. These are defined as:
Banger – a vehicle that is either valued at or purchased and then made Rally-ready at a cost of less than £1,000
Classic – a vehicle that is either valued at or purchased at a value exceeding £1,000. To enter a Classic, the team must make a mandatory donation of £1,000 to the charity.
There will once again by a dedicated Rally website and social media channels for the Rally and anyone interested in joining the 2019 AutoRaise REAL Rally should register interest by emailing info@theautoraiserealrally.co.uk
